Danielle Johnson was born and raised in Queens, NY. She began her formal dance training at the age of 12. During high school, she competed in gymnastics and received a bronze medal in floor exercise and balance beam at The Big Apple Games. Danielle went on to pursue dance as a professional career and received scholarships to study at the Alvin Ailey School of Dance (Modern, Ballet, Jazz, and Dunham Technique) and Nanette Bearden Contemporary Dance Theater (African Dance and Jazz). While in New York, Danielle had the honor to train for two years under Jazz dance master Luigi. Danielle received a scholarship to study dance at ASU and received her BA in dance.
Choreography

Danielle's works have been showcased in New York, Arizona, Las Vegas, and New Mexico.  Using various genres of dance, modern, jazz, contemporary, and musical theater, Danielle enjoys creating works that evoke emotion, thought, as well as entertain.

      Experience
Danielle has been a company member of Desert Dance Theatre (modern dance) for over 20 years  where she had the opportunity to work with choreographers from all over the country. Artists such as H.T. Chen, Neta Pulvamacher, Cliff Keuter, Elina Mooney,  Billbob Brown, Candy Jimenez, Virginia Nicolas, and Marion Kirk Jones.
 
Exploring other avenues of entertainment, Danielle also performed as a back up dancer for artist/entertainer, Howard Pheelgood, performing in L.A. and featured in the televised Arizona Entertainment Awards. As an assistant in Craig Davis' Illusion Show, she had the great fortune to be sawed in half and balanced on the edge of a sword!
 
In addition, Danielle is a certified group fitness and Pilates instructor and traveled the US as an National Presenter, training other instructors in the latest trends in fitness. Danielle competed in the sport of competitive aerobics and was a finalist in the National Aerobics Championships.  Danielle is currently a faculty member and associate company director of The Dance Academy of the White Mountains in Show Low, AZ, teaching classes in modern, jazz, and tumbling. Danielle has received her Masters in Education and teaches elementary school on the White Mountain Apache Reservation.
